Evacuation in Sudan

The participation of the Armed Forces in the evacuation of citizens in Sudan and the appointment of a Spanish general at the head of the NATO mission in Iraq are the cover themes of number 13 of the English edition of the Revista Española de Defensa.

The two operations that have enabled the rescue of 266 civilians trapped in the Sudanese conflict, the first by air, and the second by sea, using the Reina Sofía frigate, are reported. In Iraq, General José Antonio Agüero will lead the NMI mission for a year, whose objective is to help build security institutions to stabilize the country and fight terrorism.
