Four Spanish Air Force Eurofighter jets landed at Naval Station Norfolk (Virginia) at 2:30 pm on Sunday February 19th this year followed by four others 45 minutes later, thus being the first time ever that the Spanish Eurofighters land in the American continent.
All eight fighters, assigned to 11th and 14th Combat Wings, based respectively in Moron (Seville) and Albacete, flew directly from Lajes (Azores, Portugal) and stopped over at Norfolk on their transit to Nellis AB (Nevada), where they are currently participating in the exercise Red Flag 17-2.
The multinational exercise Red Flag, considered as the most complete and demanding performed by US and allied air forces, tests all the capabilities of the involved units.
