The training ship ‘Juan Sebastian de Elcano’ docked at Fells Point's  Broadway Pier, in the city of Baltimore, during the morning of May 31 coming from Miami, to make its last stop of its 87th training cruise before returning to Spain.

While in the city of Baltimore, the ‘Elcano’ received on board the Hon. Mr. Ramón Gil-Casares Satrustegui, Ambassador of Spain in the United States. Its crew accomplished an intense ceremonial and cultural agenda, such as visits to the United States Naval Academy and the aerospace and military manufacturing company, Lockheed Martin. The Spanish Armed Forces Day was also celebrated at the Ambassador's residence in Washington.

The traditional military ceremony of Pledge of Allegiance laden with emotion, also took place on board as well, on the octogenarian poop deck of the 'Elcano',  ceremony in which 36 Spaniards made an oath by kissing the flag, giving unequivocal testimony of fidelity and love for Spain.

Since her departure on March 5th from Cadiz (Spain), the ship has traveled more than seven thousand miles, visited the ports of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain), Fortaleza (Brazil), San Juan (Puerto Rico), Havana (Cuba) and Miami (USA).

At the dawn of June 5th, the 'Juan Sebastian de Elcano' set sail from Baltimore to start the ocean transit back to Spain in which three thousand miles will be traveled until arrival at Marin on July 1st, and then to Cadiz, by the 6th, where the  trip officially ends.
