The Spanish historical roots in this Californian city were again highlighted

On April 16th, a ceremony was held at the Point Loma Naval Base (San Diego, California) on occasion of the 213th anniversary of the battle of San Diego Bay. The event was sponsored by the House of Spain in San Diego and by the United States Navy.

Among those attending the event are to be mentioned the Naval Attaché to the Embassy of Spain in Washington, Captain SPN José Maria Martinez Nunez, the  General Consul in Los Angeles, Javier Vallaure, and the Honorary Consul in San Diego, Maria Angeles O'Donnell, as well as the President of the House of Spain, Jesus Beneyas.

After the ceremony, which was presented by Lady Evangelina Yguerabide, Vice President of the House of Spain in San Diego, and the speech by the Commander of Point Loma Naval Base, Captain USN Howard Warner III, a reception took place in which an exhibition of flamenco music and dancing was performed by the "Olé Flamenco" and Spanish Dance academies.
