At noon of Thursday, April 21, the US Army helicopter carrying the Four-Star General Joseph F. Dunford Jr., Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, landed at the "Gran Capitan" Base,  accompanied by Lieutenant General Sean B. McFarland, Commander in Chief of the coalition in Iraq, and a delegation of Pentagon and the aforementioned coalition personalities.

General Dunford was greeted by the Task Force Chief, Colonel Besmayah and other representatives of Building Partner Capacity III (BPC III) who after the welcome proceeded to different areas of the training complex where activities scheduled for the day were ongoing.

Dunford was interested to see the activities of the PBC III on the ground. Instructors chatted with them as they  witnessed current  education and training, including live-fire exercises in some of the areas prepared for that purpose.

At the end of his visit they exchanged impressions with the 35th Armored Brigade officers, to whom he wished all the best in their coming deployment to the North of the country.

Once back at the "Gran Captitan" Base, General Dunford visited the Blue House where he held a meeting with commanders of the BPC III in which he talked about the current training situation and future operations, expressing his gratitude for the contribution of Spain to the the multinational coalition in Iraq.
