The NATO Rapid Deployable Headquarters (HQ NRDC-ESP) in Betera (Valencia) assumes command of the NATO Land Response Force (NRF) for 2016.
Following the creation of the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF), the NRF will be increased its troop levels reaching 15,000 in his Land Component Command.
Bétera Headquarters is the first of the NATO Headquarters of High Readiness to be able to command a VJTF. It was created on the basis of the VII Light Infantry Airborne Brigade "Galicia" and also has several battalions from allied nations.
