Spain assumes command of the Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG-1). Split into three rotations, the “Alvaro de Bazán” frigate (F101) is the first as the Command Ship.
The SNMG-1 is one of the Standing Naval Maritime Groups, of NATO multinational forces projecting a constant and visible presence of solidarity and cohesion of the Alliance around the world.
During its deployment is scheduled to participate in various international exercises as "Joint Warrior" or "Dynamic Guard".
