The activity was part of NATO's Trident Juncture 2015 exercise
After an eight-hour flight from Fort Bragg, NC, to Zaragoza, Spain, 550 paratroopers of the US Army 82nd Airborne Division conducted a jump as part of the NATO exercise, Trident Juncture 2015.
Simulating an attack against conventional opposing forces, the American paratroopers jumped from seven USAF's C-17 Globemaster aircrafts and alongside a Spanish unit of BRIPAC (Parachutist Brigade), sending, in the words of NATO´s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, a clear message to potential threats: “NATO is ready to deploy at a large scale and at large scenarios.”
