On November 3, the US Ambassador Mr. James Costos visited the headquarters of the Maritime Action Force (FAM) and the Diving Center of the Spanish Armada (CBA). He was accompanied by the head of Economic Affairs, Ms. Elise Brumbach, Political Counselor, Mrs. Shelby Smith-Wilson, the Defense Attache, CN. Doug Ten Hoopen and manager of Media Relations, Mr. Zach Hotis.


Upon arrival, he and his delegation were received by Vice Admiral Manuel de la Puente Mora-Figueroa, chief of Maritime Operations, at his headquarters, where they held a meeting. They then attended a presentation on the Maritime Action Force and visited the Maritime Action Center for Operations and Surveillance (COVAM), where a presentation was given to explain its tasks and operations.


Later, the delegation went to the Arsenal of Cartagena where they met Vice-Admiral Marcial Perez-Pardo Gamboa, Admiral Chief of the Ordnance Depot of Cartagena (ALARCART).


Finally, they visited the Diving Center of the Navy, where the Ambassador was received with honors by the Admiral Chief of Maritime Operations, who was accompanied by the Commander of the Diving Center of the Navy (COMTECBA).


After signing the Guests Book, he was briefed with a presentation on the planning and execution of diving operations, missions, facilities, training, personnel and the Spanish Navy's diving equipment.


After the presentation, the Ambassador and his delegation visited the workshops and Diving Center, where they were briefed about the various equipment and techniques the diving center uses, highlighting deep and combat diving techniques.
