International Special Training Center of the US Army
From 12 to 28 July, the International Special Training Centre (ISTC) of the US Army is conducting in Alicante, Spain, the 1st Desert Sniper Course, with the participation of 22 students from eight NATO nations: Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Turkey and the US.
According to the ISTC, this course is the culmination of a year-long effort to meet the needs of the SOF sniper community, identified during ISTC Sniper Symposium in 2014.
The ISTC Command team has visited the Special Operation Command, MOE in Alicante to thank for its support to bring this course to fruition. According to the Commander of the ISTC, "the MOE not only provided range facilities and logistical support, but more importantly, their expertise in desert sniping and desert survival, needed to meet both the critical tasks and training objectives".
