Spanish Air Force Officer will fly USAF C-17 airplanes

First Spanish Officer to achieve such qualification.

Last April 20^th, Captain David J. Martinez Guillen earned the initial qualification as C-17 Globemaster first pilot, thus becoming the first Spaniard to achieve such qualification for the most modern transport aircraft currently operated by the US Air Force.

After getting qualified, Captain Martinez Guillen joined the 16^th Airlift Squadron at Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina, in which he will serve a two-year tour as a C-17 pilot, under a military personnel exchange agreement between Spanish and US Air Forces.
