NDIA´s International Division presents a working luncheon with the Defense Attaché Office. This luncheon aimed to present to the US Defense Industry issues and interests of the General Directorate for Armament and Materiel of the Spanish Ministry of Defense.

On November 6, a working luncheon organized by the International Division of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) took place at the prestigious Army & Navy Club in Washington, D.C. This luncheon aimed to present to the US Defense Industry issues and interests of the General Directorate for Armament and Materiel of the Spanish Ministry of Defense.


After the luncheon, and previous exchange of points of view with the participants, the Defense Attaché, Brigadier General Angel Valcarcel, gave a comprehensive presentation in which he initially highlighted the identity and importance of Spain within the international context, the recovery of the country´s main economic indexes, and the transformation of the Spanish Armed Forces, including their outstanding participation in multinational operations.
After a brief explanation of some of the most relevant initiatives of Smart Defense that Spain follows within NATO or the European Union ´s framework, BG Valcarcel underscored in a more detailed way the development of the main armament programs that are currently taking place. Before opening way to the questions and answers part, he concluded with a short list of future projects that are considered of priority today in order to guarantee the level of efficiency and effectiveness that the Spanish Armed Forces pursue on the 2025 horizon.


There were representatives from Aerojet Rocketdyne, Airbus Defense and Space, Inc., American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier, LLC., Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation, BAE Systems, BecTech, Cevasco International. LLC, DELTA Resources, Inc., Gentex Corporation, iGov, International Technology Sales, LLC, Kaye Scholer, LLP., Kuehne & Nagel, Inc., MDA Information System, Niitek, Inc., Planate Management Group, Raytheon Company, The Avascent Group, The Boeing Company, UTI United States, Inc., Washington Alliance Group, XTAR, LLC. It is worth mentioning the presence of seven representatives from Lockheed Martin Corporation.

There were also attendees from the Undersecretary Defense Office for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, the Navy International Programs Office, and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).
