On September 19th Air Force General F. Javier García Arnaiz (JEMA), as dean of the Chiefs of Staff of NATO Air Forces, laid a wreath at the tomb of the 'Unknown Soldier' in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington DC, during a touching ceremony where all fallen in acts of duty were honored.

Previously, together with the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, General Welsh, he mustered a section of the Air Force Honor Guard.
On September 18th Lieutenant General Michelle Johnson, first female ever in charge of a Military Academy in the United States, and Superintendent of the United States Air Force Academy, received the participants in the OTAN 14 Air Force Chiefs of Staff congress, one of them being the Spanish Air Force Chief of Staff, Air Force General F. Javier Garcia Arnaiz.
During the visit General Johnson highlighted USAFA´s main goal to educate military leaders with a solid formation in ethical values and with the capacity to face the future´s challenges.
During his visit General Garcia Arnaiz had the opportunity to meet with the four Spanish cadets at USAFA who are completing part of their military studies in the United States. General Arnaiz was able to confirm that the four students are perfectly integrated in their different squadrons and that they actively participate in all academic, sports, and recreational activities.
General Arnaiz encouraged them to make the most of their time in the USAFA, where besides strengthening their level of English, they will go through life enriching experiences quite different from those they are familiar with at the Spanish Air Force Academy.
